Christmas Letter 2011

Merry Christmas!  We had a pretty eventful year.  In January we decided to move back to Sigourney, Iowa!  Norm is now working for Atwood Electric.  We love being in the mid-west again and near family.  So we started packing, again!  In February my Dad and brother came to Colorado to help us move and drive us to Iowa.  It went smoothly thanks to some good friends and family!  Since I was pregnant we had to take two days to do the drive, something we don’t usually do!  My mom, my brother Ben, mother-in laws Cindy and Nancy, and great-aunt Nadine saved me from insanity and painted and cleaned my house so it was ready when our stuff arrived.  Then Norm’s uncles and some friends showed up an unloaded our moving truck!  We couldn’t have done it without all the help!  Thank you everyone!  That weekend we also had Sydney’s baptism!  Norm then headed back to Colorado for six weeks to finish his work there.  While he was gone, I was blessed with strength to unpack the house, handle the end of my pregnancy and the children.  When Norm got back it was a VERY happy day for our family!

On May 8th, we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy!  Robert Owen Atwood.  I had a wonderful mid-wife deliver him at home and the kids were able to see him 30 minutes after he was born!  It was pretty cool.  Savannah (12), Bree (10), Sydney (8), Georgia (7), Sophia (5), and Miles (3) love their new brother!

We had a busy summer with family visiting, family reunions, and the Atwood Electric Fun Run on the 4th of July!  It was fun!  I didn’t want it to end.  This fall we decided to become involved in a home school group in Washington and the kids have enjoyed the events there.  Savannah has had fun playing volleyball and basketball at the Jr. High.  Bree, is enjoying Jazz, Sydney, ballet, and Georgia, gymnastics here in Sigourney.  Sophia, Miles and Robert are all having fun playing in our yard and the swing set their Dad put together for them!  This Thanksgiving we hosted all of our family for the day and can’t wait to do it again next year!  We are truly blessed.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and are able to see all the blessings that are in your life!
