I thought for sure the kids would be excited that we were going to another state park but it seems like friends will always be more exciting, until we get there! We started our visit to Castlewood Canyon State Park with a picnic. The girls said the food was better this time. Nothing like a rotisserie chicken from Sprouts to make kids happy, and a little chocolate cake for dessert.

Savannah and Bree were telling me they shouldn't call the places without playground equipment parks. I explained that really parks began with just nature and that people added playground equipment later. They didn't think that was very good to confuse kids. So I told them from now on I would call parks, parks, and parks with playground equipment, playgrounds. Let's hope that clears some confusion in the future. So at this park, we decided to take a paved trail this time and I think Miles liked it the most. He walked almost the whole time!

There were some beautiful views and the girls thought the canyons were so cool.

Sophia insisted on pushing the stroller even though she couldn't see over the top.

Savannah loved how the stream ran through the canyon. Maybe we should consider the Grand Canyon for vacation after all.

Georgia took advantage of Dad and was his buddy when she wasn't running ahead on the trail with Savannah.

My hope is that one day my kids will look back at all the times I MADE them go to the parks with us and remember them as great family time.
