Norman

We are studying the Vikings for school and I was telling the girls how they came from Norway, Sweden and Ireland and our ancestors are from there also. I explained how the vikings kept attacking the Frankish Kingdom (France) and the people finally gave the Vikings a town called Normandy. The Vikings began to settle the area and those people were called "Normans" (meaning north man). The girls thought that was about the coolest thing ever, so I thought I would review for them the meanings of their names, plus I have been thinking about names and their meanings for the baby so it has been fun looking everything up again!

Norman - Gaelic, Thor courage/mind
Stephanie - Greek, Crown
Savannah - Spanish, Plateau
Gabrielle - Hebrew, God is my might
Sydney - English, Wide Meadow
Georgia - Latin, earth-worker
Sophia - Greek, Wisdom
Miles - Latin, soldier

Three more months until we add another one!
